In the photos below we present what was considered to be the most commonly used defensive armour of the ancient Greek-soldiers, which were called hoplites.

 

The defensive armour consisted of four pieces: helmet, shield, breastplate and leg-guards. These four pieces of armour are estimated to have weighted about 30kg (around 65 pounds).

 

Equipment was not standardised, although there were doubtless trends in general designs over time, and between city-states.

 

All displayed products below are made of bronze and copper and all the pieces are put together by hand.
