Aphrodite of Melos, also known as Venus de Milo, was created around 100 B.C. and it is believed to depict Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of beauty and love. The cult of her origin was believed to be near Cyprus. Often women would make sacrifice to Aphrodite before they get married so that their first sexual experience to be fruitful.
